Fairy tales have existed such for a long time, which brings the color of mystery and imagination to the world of children, where our childhood travels in place which was called wonderland. One of my favorite fairy stories is Cinderella.

Cinderella was a youthful and beautiful girl, she was gentle, nice and hardworking, all the perfect standards for a girl as traditional thought. However, she was an orphan, she had to live with her step-mother and her two step-sisters. Without the protect and care from her parent, she had to serve under a bad condition for her step-mother and her step-sisters who are extremely wicked, greedy and lazy. They presented for evil class in that society. There is nothing to argue about if this fairy tale I was told before that ten years.

Excluding all unreal and fabulous elements, we just focus on the corn that built up character’s portrait. When you were a child, adults always taught you that 'One good turn deserves another’, this means if you are kind and sympathetic, luck will knock your door. However, taking a vision from this present to the past, that pretty Cinderella was too weak and feeble, she was scared of the struggle for her right, her happiness. Exactly, she accepted that unfair destiny unconditionally. Something is wrong here, taking a look at moment, if people were put under the same condition as Cinderella, what would they act?, whether they accept it and wait for magic from fairy’s magic wand?. Happiness must be struggled for, man build it and create it. It is a bit stupid and ashamed to surrender the present circumstance when you have not even given it a try. Personally, I see that Cinderella character of Brothers Grimm was portrayed as a women, weak, feeble, easy to get pleased and down for destiny. She exactly can not decide her own happiness and fight for it, even when the prince came and gave her a chance to wear the shoe, that was the little animal, which she called friends, helped her escape the scheme of Cinderella’s step mother and took a chance for her to put on that shoe. I do not think that she had consciousness of fighting for her love from the start.

The second matter is about love concept, it could be that love starts from the first sigh, we can see it in Romeo and Juliet work of Shakespeare or Snow-white( Bach Tuyet va Bay Chu Lun). In the Cinderella, did not that Prince loved the Snow-white because of her beauty? Did not that the Snow-white caught the prince’s attention from the day she put on her gorgeous evening dress? Whether the prince would note Cinderella under the cover of a servant, who is always getting dirty on clothes and working for low job? . Another example is Snow-white, if Snow-white was not pretty when she was sleeping whether the prince could stop by and gave her a kiss?. All I could see as Cinderella and fairy tales is that love comes from appearance, the outlook placed better role than character at that time. That will not be so deep lesson about love for children and they can misunderstand that to get love, first of all they must be prettier. Tales work in the same model, princess/ women who are beautiful, nice character but feeble, accept the destiny or bad circumstance without struggle for their own happiness. In the Sleeping beauty, Snow-white and Cinderella , princes would come to rescue princesses from their trouble and together live in peace. So what these princesses do if the princes did not come and rescue them? I am pretty sure that they will leave their life under hands of god. No action role, there will be no action movie here. What I want to say here is beauty does not make girls’ life easier, nice, gentle and obey-able are not suitable in this society, girls need be active, clever and smart to search for their love and become strong, flexible, personal to get success. The fairy tales should make a revolution, change the content to adapt with new generation, new era and lead them to a reality to equip them well knowledge about the world where adults call tough.
